Oikoumene Forest Ltd. was established in 1974 to retail the round wood products produced by the owner Ernest J Smith.

The name Oikoumene is a Greek word which has been taken to mean "All the people of the inhabited world" and encompasses Ernie's philosophy on life, which is very community minded.

Oikoumene Forest Ltd supplies quality wooden and steel gates and fencing to suit residential, commercial and lifestyle rural applications, plus a broad selection of landscape and building products.

Wooden entrance gates are a specialty, with a wide range of attractive, solidly built designs to choose from. We are also agents for quality Red Stag steel gates.

Based at Helensville, just north of Auckland, New Zealand, we offer friendly and efficient service at competitive prices.

Since 1974 our range of products has grown along with the size of the business. The yard now encompasses about 5 acres and thousands of lines meaning we are now a one-stop timber and hardware shop.

In 1990 we were asked to produce a special gate for a customer for a driveway entrance; this has now become one of our specialties, with many different designs now on offer.
